Spring Is Right Around the Corner: Is Your Car Ready?

Happy New Year! Now that the holidays are behind us, it’s time to look to the future. Whether you have a busy summer planned or you’re looking forward to a stay-cation, you’ll still need your car to safely get you to your destination. Do you and your car a favor checking vital components before you start your travels.

Get Your Vehicle Ready for Spring

Besides consulting your car’s manual to make sure you’re following your recommended service schedule, you can also get your car ready for spring and summer adventures by taking these simple steps.

Test and Replace Your Battery

The last thing any road trip needs is a car that won’t start. Cold temperatures through the winter forced your battery to work twice as hard, but warm weather can evaporate your battery fluid and speed up any existing corrosion. All it takes is one hot day before your travels are cut short. Have your battery tested and replace it if necessary.

Replace Your Wipers

Summer storms shouldn’t phase your exciting travel plans. Snow and ice can be disastrous for old wiper blades. If simply cleaning your wipers doesn’t get the job done, replace your blades and top off the wiper fluid, just to be safe.

Schedule an Oil Change

A regular oil change is one of the most important things for your vehicle because it leads to a healthy engine. When the engine oil gets old, it can’t lubricate the engine properly and your engine will suffer. Your best bet is to get your car or truck into the shop at the beginning of spring to avoid any hiccups all summer long.

Check Your Tire Pressure

Another great reason to consult your vehicle’s manual! If your tire pressure is too low or too high, it can cause major problems for your tires on the road. Similarly, a worn tire tread can be dangerous because your wheels can’t properly grip the road. Give your tires a little TLC and they’ll safely take you anywhere you want to go.

Give Your Car the Royal Treatment

This can include anything from taking your vehicle through the wash, getting it waxed, or cleaning your headlights and replacing the bulbs. A car that works well on the inside should look just as brilliant on the outside!

A little care can go a long way for your car or truck. Be sure to start planning your service appointments now so you’re not caught in the spring rush!

Comments

  1. Great information Technology is a better always.

  2. I hadn’t thought about how a worn tire tread could be dangerous because your car’s tires can’t properly grip the road. I think our car’s tires are pretty worn out since the tread is worn down and the car does awful in the snow. We better get the tires looked at soon so that we can make sure we’re safe on the road.

  3. I like how you said to check your tire pressure and get an oil change. We haven’t done that in a while, so I think we’ll do it before spring comes around. I want to make sure my car is in tip top shape from here on out, so I won’t for get to do it.
