Your Vehicle’s Spring Maintenance Checklist

Believe it or not, we are getting close to the end of these cold winter months. So it is important to look ahead and to get your vehicle ready with some after-winter maintenance. Here is a check-list for your vehicle’s care going into spring:

performance-truck-auto-serviceGet a radiator flush

Your antifreeze mixture had a long winter. Spring time is a good time to get a radiator flush.

Get your tires inspected:

Driving through all the snow and ice put some serious wear and tear on your tires. Get them inspected so they’re ready to go for spring. Getting a tire rotation will help extend the life of your tires. Make sure you check out your air pressure as well, as cold weather usually will adjust your tire pressure.

Wiper Blades

Replace your wipers now! After all, they’ve had a hard winter, too, going through all of that ice and snow and salt put on the roads.

Fluids

Winter driving conditions makes your engine work harder than ever. It is a good idea to come in, get an oil change and get your fluids topped.

Battery

Your battery gets it pretty rough in the winter, too. So make sure you get it checked out now. The cold weather can make it harder for it to work which can sometimes cause it to fail. Keep an eye out for dimmed lights (headlights or interior). This usually implies a weak battery.

Test the A/C.

Yeah, it is cold out still… but that doesn’t your air conditioner isn’t having an issue. You might not notice it until it is the first hot day of the year and you’ll be dying to have your A/C back again.

Underbody

Salt buildup can take a toll on your car’s parts underneath your vehicle. Make sure you get it properly cleaned before you head into the spring!

Taking these steps and getting a spring maintenance check will help keep your car in proper condition and give you peace of mind while on the road. It could also help with your fuel mileage or save you money by avoiding a summer breakdown.

  1. Tires play an important role while driving a car. A special care should be taken of it, especially in summers. While changing the car wheels, you need to keep certain things in mind, as many mechanics do not check and replace it which creates further problem in it. Always use the tire which is appropriate fit to it, and should be relevant to it. Its better to use the tire of the car company

  2. I had no idea that salt build up could be a problem for many cars. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind as it gets warmer. Hopefully there isn’t too much build up under my car. I should probably take my car to a professional to make sure it is road worthy just to be safe.
