Here’s how to get your vehicle ready for spring:

1. Wash the undercarriage of the vehicle. Dirt, salt from the road, and other debris gets lodged under cars, trucks, and vans. Use a hose or visit a car wash with a power sprayer. This will remove the grime from your vehicle.

2. Wipe down the engine and clean the battery with a toothbrush. Leaves find their way under the hood. Brush them away. Use a soft mitt to remove dirt. You can find them for sale at any auto repair shop.

3. Clean the interior and exterior. Clean and wax the exterior of the car. Use a cleaner to wipe down your dashboard, steering wheel, and console. Steam clean the seats. Remove all winter tools from your vehicle. It’s spring after all! You won’t be needing ice scrapers or salt anytime soon. If you don’t feel comfortable detailing the vehicle, have an auto repair shop do it for you.

4. Replace windshield wipers. Blades should be changed twice yearly, in the spring and fall. An auto repair shop sells a number of different wiper styles to meet your needs. Best of all, they can install them for you if you don’t have time to do it yourself.

5. Inflate tires. Make sure that your tires are properly inflated in the spring. Use a tire gauge to make sure each has enough air pressure. If your tires look bald, take them in to an auto repair shop and have them checked out.

6. Top off fluids. Change the oil in your vehicle and have an auto repair shop employee add windshield wiper fluid, brake fluid, and coolant.

Spring auto repair is necessary. It helps keep you on the road safe and sound. Your vehicle operates more efficiently which saves you money as well. Performance Auto Repair can help you back on track right away.
